Where to get married? ...
The choice is yours! It's not just the traditional church wedding that is on offer these days, there are a number of options open to you! This can be either in a grand hall, rustic barn, hotel, abroad, on board a ship or in a garden/outdoor setting. Alternatively, if you're feeling very adventurous, underwater, on the edge of a cliff or in a hot air balloon! (Well, maybe that's for the few brave couples!) In our experience, the most popular choice is either at a venue where everything takes place under one roof or a traditional church wedding followed by a reception.
So, we'll look at the last two popular choices; A church wedding - a traditional and religious choice where you exchange your vows in the presence of God as well as your family and friends. This involves the couple co-coordinating dates with the church and venue of their choice, so give yourselves plenty of time. Once you have your initial meeting with the vicar or church administrator, they will guide you to what is needed legally as well as what is involved in the run up to the marriage as well as the service. They are there to help you, so don't be afraid to ask questions.
At a civil venue - a popular choice as everything takes place under one roof. A wedding coordinator will be allocated, helping and advising you through the process. A meeting takes place with the Registrar who will be marrying you ensuring that all the paperwork and legalities are in place. Venues can be booked up for a couple of years, especially weekends, so make sure that you give yourselves plenty of time. Eliminating disappointment if you have a specific venue in mind.
